Having trouble uploading XML file through Mappoint CSS site
Hi,
I am trying to upload a (correctly formatted) XML based file using the CSS
site, but it continually fails. There is no specific error message, but
instead of being redirected to the "confirmation" page after the upload, I
get an Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage page. I know the file
is in the correct format as I have been using the same conversion program for
2+ years. I also looked at the file to confirm it was not corrupted. In
addition I tried to upload the file from 2 different PCs using 2 different
ISPs. The file is around 32MB (well under the 100MB limit) and has around
100,000 entities (cutting the file back to 75,000 entities did not help).

I tried uploading by replacing an existing data source and also by creating
a new data source. I tried to upload to Staging and Production.

I can successfully upload a much smaller file without any problem.

I don't know what else to try. Any help would be truly appreciated. Thank
you!

RE: Having trouble uploading XML file through Mappoint CSS site
Scott,

I'd recommend that you use the DataUploader application provided through the
MWS 4.5 SDK
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=CB5148A9-F09E-4EC8-992F-16478C0B5D9A&displaylang=en).
You have a lot more control over the flow of the data such as handling
packet sizes and logging errors. I find the CSS site uploader unreliable
when it comes to files of large sizes and have been able to upload 200,000+
long records using the datauploader app if managed correctly.

Hope that helps,
