I am a uni student completing a design degree and I have just bought software that needs Windows XP Pro to run (I dont understand why it can't run on Home). Therefore I have the sp1 version of XP Pro from an older computer and I want to install it on this computer. However the computer wont do it, it says that it is an older version, which it is, and cannot "upgrade". I have thought about reformatting my c:/ but I can't seem to do it. Can anyone suggest how to install it, or even how to reformat the boot drive. Thanks Heaps Scotty
you must boot to the xp-pro cd...do new install... when it asks what partition... select the current...delete it..create new partition...format it... then install normally Pattieb "Scotty" wrote in message news:B116586E-9CC4-457A-B4DC-925C9250A368@microsoft.com... >I am a uni student completing a design degree and I have just bought >software > that needs Windows XP Pro to run (I dont understand why it can't run on > Home).
