I had an issue where I had a missing hal.dll file and could not even get Windows loaded so I booted from my XP CD and seem to have everything back to the way it was...including two versions of Windows (new one, and the settings I used to have). Anyway, on the edition with the settings I used to have, all the programs are somewhere around where they usually are...except in the Start Menu under All Programs...there is nothing there. Ahhh! I'm ready to get a mac! Please help if you can!
open your "C" drive... got to doc's & settings... you should see the old user ID's...open each..got to start menu folder...you will find all your old programs...copy them to the new user ID's start menu folder...and your back!
