cd rom trouble
I installed a portable cd burner on my daughters computer HP cd-writer 8200
series. Windows disabled it saying that it needed a newer version of Easy CD
Creator but it disabled her CD rom drive as well and even though I have
deleted the HP software it wont reinstall her cd rom. It says the drivers are
loaded but cannot find the hardware device. What can I do?

RE: cd rom trouble
Unplug the cd-rom, then uninstall it, shut down the pc, plug the hardware
back in then reboot. This should bring up the "Found new hardware Wizard".
Which will re-load the device, and drivers. I had to do this with a modem. If
you need help, let me know.
