I purchased a new Lexmark printer last weekend. Uninstalled the old one and installed the new one. Now everytime I log in an error msg appears: Error loading c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\lxbttime.dll. The specified mdule could not be found. It is associated with the old printer. Contacting Lexmark support has not helped.... This is found in msconfig|Startup. I uncheck it and when I reboot I get same msg and the item in msconfig|Startup is rechecked. How can I delete this from startup. I am assuming it is getting it from the registry. Do I need to edit the registry also?
It is always best to completely remove your printer driver before installing or reinstalling. Open your printers folder, file, server properties, drivers tab. Delete anything that is associated with your old Lexmark. Bruce Sanderson's Windows Web How to clean up printer drivers http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm There is a special link for Lexmark in the first paragraph, but I don't know if it relates to your issue. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "grwilbourn" wrote in message news:351E5193-FFFF-4B8F-9FAF-B80B54A51A3F@microsoft.com... >I purchased a new Lexmark printer last weekend.
