defender   
I installed windows defender but a message pop up It said applalication 
failed to ontialize 0x80016ba A problem caused wiindow defender sevice to stop
I reconmened that I start the program manually. My question is how would I 
start this program manually.I run windows 2000 NT professional on my computer

Did you look in your Programs list? That's where mine is. Try this:
C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe

I did look in programs but every \time I try to run the program The same  box 
comes up

Which Windows 2000 version are you running? The specs say:

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows 
XP Service Pack 2 or later, or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or later.
