I am trying to run a DB4 program under XP which worked fine in W98. In W95/98 the program needed a files="n" command in the config.sys to avoid the error message "too many files are open". Under Xp the program does run but gives the error message running certain tasks. I have tried adding a config.sys in the root of C: Does anyone know if the available files under XP can be increased and if so how? TKU jb
You need to remember that XP does not use DOS. It uses a DOS emulator. It's time you start looking for a replacement for your program that will run in XP. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "jbbaxi" wrote in message news:A0312151-C770-4691-9CE2-8A92DE3218DB@microsoft.com... >I am trying to run a DB4 program under XP which worked fine in W98.
