installation problem
I have a DELL windows vista 32bit. I'm trying to install a printer software
from HP officejet 6310 all-in-one series. when the installation is proceded,
a windows screen problem report pops-out saying:

"HP INSTALLER OPTION PLUG-IN HAS STOPPED WORKING".
A PROBLEM CAUSED THE PROGRAM TO STOP WORKING CORRECTLY. WINDOWS WILL CLOSE
THE PROGRAM AND NOTIFY YOU IF A SOLUTION IS AVAILABLE.

Then I closed this window and nothing happens. For the past month I had been
checking if windows had resolved this problem, I haven't received or found
any solution from microsoft that could fix this issue. I don't know what
program is causing this problem, I had send to microsoft like about 50 times
this problem report and I haven't got any feedbacks yet. Please Help thank
you!!!!........

same error message
Today I tried to install drivers and software for a HP PCS 1402, also a All-in-One, also on Vista 32-bit.

I get the same error message!

RE: same error message
Same here. I tried installing software for HP2575, which I had used before.
Scanner didn't work anymore and I tried reinstalling the software, but now I
get the same stupid error message. Also Dell (Dimension 9200) and Vista
32-bit.

RE: same error message
> > > Hi,
I managed to get the printer installed by looking in the temp directory
where the HP installer copied all the installation files. These were not
removed.
The files were in Users\username\Appdata\Temp\7zs609.tmp.
The last part may be different because it is a "tempname".
I found the drivers in "drivers\dot4\wrapper\cioum32.msi and after that I
installed the printer via new printer in the configurationmanager. The
printer is working now.
I am now looking into the use of the scanner, but until now not sauccesfull.
Lucky for me is that my printer is in my network, so I can use other
computers to scan.
I hope this is of some help to you, but I would like to know if HP or
Microsoft can help to solve this problem.

RE: same error message
I had this same problem since early Sep 08. I removed IE8beta2. I was then
able to install the HP software and driver package on Win Vista x64. I now
can use printing, scanning, etc. Hope this helps.

RE: installation problem
try installing it from the install cd manually instead of using the autoplay
install

RE: installation problem
I finally got it to install by choosing the 'simple' install instead of the
'advanced' install. So perhaps the simple install didn't need to run
hpzopt01.exe

Thanks for the help, ZEUS

RE: same error message
Thanks for the help guys. I eventually got it installed by using the 'simple'
install option instead of the 'advanced' option.

I'm guessing some part of the system that hpzopt01.exe was relying on has
changed since the drivers were released. I also have IE8beta2 installed, so
it could very well be that. I don't want to mess with it now that it's
working, but it's something to keep in mind in case I need it again. thanks
Eric

RE: same error message
Brilliant

Removing the IE8 Beta sorted it all out!
Well done....

You'd think that even a Beta would have been tested just a little bit...
