RE: Regedit setting
The easy way:
With admin rights create a new account on the local machine that will ALSO
have admin rights.

Log into that new account locally.

Make the registry change you need.

RESTART the machine.

Log in with the original account again.

RIGHT-click "My Computer" and choose properties. Click on the Advanced Tab.

Click on the Settings button under User Profiles.

Highlight the profile of the account that you had just created and click on
the "Copy To" button.

Browse to the c:\documents and settings folder, highlight the Default User
folder and click OK.

You will be asked to confirm. Yes.

You can now delete the users profile that you had created.

Don't forget to remove the bogus local account with admin rights that you
had created.

All users logging into the machine FOR THE FIRST TIME will now have that
registry key as part of their profile.

RE: Regedit setting
Perhaps I was a bit unclear. This will not grant admin rights to the new
users. 1 step I DID miss, and that may have caused the confusion, after you
make the registry change on the new admin account, use that account to REMOVE
ITSELF from the admin group before restarting.

In essence, what this will do is add the needed registry change, and only
that, to every user that logs into the machine for the first time (thus
building them a new profile).

RE: Regedit setting
need more information, what is the software? Do you have admin rights?? do
you know anything about registry settings? if so then make the same setting
you applied to your HKEY_CURRENT_USER_SOFTWARE...ETC.. make that same change
to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_SOFTWARE...ETC
hope that helps.

Re: Regedit setting
Software installed by a specific user is only availble to that user - check
to see if installation offers the option of "For this User only" or "for all
Users". or install via Administrator status and make available to all Users
profiles.
