I recently had my computer crash and had to reinstall the Windows XP Professional on my system. The installation seemed to go fine but when my system rebooted there was no sound. I checked the speakers and everything it hooked up fine. I tried deleting the sound devices from the device manager and doing a new hardware search but still no sound. I tried to play a CD but still no sound. Can anyone help me get my sound back?
Did you install the right drivers? Get the model number of the sound card and download the drivers from the website. It's usually right on the sound card, just grab any numbers and google them. Also, isn't there supposed to be a cable that connects the cd-rom to the sound card? I seem to remember this in the past, maybe newer computers don't need it.
