When I attempt to install or uninstall some applications, I get an Error 1730...You must be an administrator to remove this application. I am the only person who uses this machine. Why am I not the administrator, and how can I become the administrator?
Hi, You can try to enable the local administrator account and log on with that, then try again. your account is not the "real" admin account, you are just a member. sounds odd, but plz try the above. /Stew "myKro" skrev i meddelelsen news:EC4D4909-2EA2-4892-A867-393CE4A80940@microsoft.com... > When I attempt to install or uninstall some applications, I get an Error > 1730...You must be an administrator to remove this application. Where are you seeing that juxtaposition? Is there a log which confirms it? FWIW here is what I get for that code: <cmd_output OS="XPsp2"> E:\>net helpmsg 1730 The transfer syntax is not supported by the RPC server. </cmd_output> > I am the only person who uses this machine. > Why am I not the administrator, and how can I > become the administrator? Make sure that you aren't being misled by by a message which is making a wrong guess at interpreting your symptom... HTH Robert Aldwinckle ---
I get the same message when attempting uninstall from Control Panel. I think this issue is more deeply rooted in the UAC functionality. I can uninstall same programs using a separate 3rd party tool.
