I just signed up for my subscription to Direct and I was wondering why it would take so long just to generate an ID number that I can use to log into a web site? Seems a little silly. How long will it take me to get access? Thanks from the New Guy
How long is "so long"? X Minutes? X hours? X days? But I've now been waiting for about 36 hours and the status is still "submitted" meaning they haven't even bothered to charge my card and start the order. This is a little silly. I guess I could see if maybe there are millions of people logging on to order a Technet subscription. But I doubt that's happening. Most sites where you order a membership or a subscription or software for download you pay, they charge your card and a few minutes later you get access. In this day with the present state of technology I cannot see a good reason for it to take a day and a half. Just venting. Sorry. Is there anyone who knows a real reason for the delay. I looked back over the messages posted and found another person asking with no answers.
I ordered a direct subscription on 4/25 and still no benefits. Crappy order management system and customer service IMO. Can't understand what the hold up is. I requested my order to be cancelled. There is little hope of that happening at this rate.
This is rich. I just checked my email and MS asked to give them feedback. I went through the whole survey telling them how shoddy the ordering process is. And when I was asked to submit it, they returned an error saying the page could not be reached. Isn't that funny!
Well finally. Just checked email and despite the status page saying it is still just in the submitted phase, I actually have access.
