Microsoft Active Sync - Treo 700w   

Have a Treo 700w and downloaded Microsoft Active Sync.  I have tried every 
which way to get the two to sync but my laptop never ever recognizes the Treo 
is even connected.  I have opened ports, removed active sync several times, 
restarted and so on.  HELP.  Thanks
