Visual Studio Installation
I downloaded the evaluation Visual Studio 2008 edition from MS's site and installed it. My 90 days are just about up.

I purchased a MSDN Premium subscription which obviously has Visual Studio in it.

I don't want to necessarily uninstall my existing VS installation because I don't know what it will delete on the system. Do you just install the VS from my MSDN subscription over the existing installation?

I am in middle of a project and really hate to screw-up my system.

Re: Visual Studio Installation
Hi,

You will screw up your system more if you don't uninstall it first. You
should never upgrade an operating system, software or drivers over the
top of old ones.

For an o/s you should wipe the whole boot drive, do a block level scan
in the SCSI BIOS for bad sectors, re-create the boot loader and
partitions then re-load the o/s.

For software you should uninstall, check the registry for any left-overs
then install the new one.

Visual Studio is one of the few software titles that is designed
properly for windows, in that it respects the user's home directory and
separates settings into the user profile.
