I looked today, expecting to find the usual list of recent downloads. It appears that facility has gone. Instead there is only a so called "browser", where you have to hover navigate your way through the hierarchy. It takes 32 seconds for it to smooth scroll through the "Tools & resources" section. That would be better if the hierarchy were redesigned. But then we would be left browsing around the levels trying to find the right category. Could the search perhaps be improved so that downloads could be say sorted in chronological order, please? & how is the browsing going to be mended? As launched its a very sad reflection on Microsoft. Regards -- Dave English Senior Software & Systems Engineer Internet Platform Development, Thus plc
The new functions are really bad. The search is useless. Just try to find Expression Stuido 2 using the new search. It will tell you there's no files found. I did find a post that pointed out that the file is in the Top Subscriber Downloads section hidden way down low on the Subscriber home page. Apparently the best way to search subscriber downloads now is the newsgroups instead of the downloads site. I hate when things change just because some new technology came out or just for the sake of making a change even when the old way worked fine. They should have left well enough alone if they didn't really have a better new way. Just my opinion, Dale "Dave English" wrote: > I looked today, expecting to find the usual list of recent downloads. > It appears that facility has gone. > > Instead there is only a so called "browser", where you have to hover > navigate your way through the hierarchy. > > It takes 32 seconds for it to smooth scroll through the "Tools & > resources" section.
