I downloaded Windows 2003 Server Retail Edition and obtained a product key from the MSDN site. I installed the OS successfully using the product key on one computer. Successfully activated the OS using the telephone service. I then installed the OS on a second computer using the same product key. I called the telephone service to activate, entered the installation ID, received the confirmation ID, entered it into the wizard and get the message "Confirmation ID invalid. Please check the number and try again" ! I've called customer services who told me to post here for an answer. I've searched the newsgroups but don't see any relevant posts regarding this error. Can anyone shed any light on this problem ?

No, not in this case. The first was a VMWare image the second is a physical server. However ... I do plan on using the same product key to licence three computers all on the same development network. I haven't got to that stage yet as I'm stuck on activating the first server. Is this going to be a problem ?
