Windows Media Player lags when I go to "Now Playing" mode
In a nutshell I was generally having lafg with Windows Media Player 11 so I
bought 1GB of ram and added it the 256MB of Ram that came with this Dell
Dimension 100 Series. But it still lagged. SO i disabled a number of
programs on start up to see if that was the problem. And of course it didn't
fix anything. So finally I uninstalled Media Player 11 and the re-installed
it. That fixed the lag with just playing it while in Library view mode, but
as soon as I go to "Now Playing" with the equalizer on (bars) it starts to
lag. And it also lags if I open a folder, well it kinda skips abit or slwo
down if you get my meaning. So I was even thinking of buying another memory
stick (1GB) to see if that helps. Hope someone can help me with this.
To give you an idea of what type of PC I'm using, it's a Dell Dimension 1100
Series, running Wndows XP Home Edition 2002 version, SP2, with an Intel
Celeron CPU 2.53Mhz, 1.25GB of Ram, 53 GB Harddrive and 18GB Harddrive
backup. Currently has 34GBs of free space and I just defragged it (someone
told me that would help, yeah right!). There were a num ber of programs
running that I disabled but maybe I should check Task Manager to make sure.
Anywho, someone please give me some feedback so I can fix this issue. Thanks
so much.
