Installing Media Player 11 in Xp media centre 2004
I am trying to install Media player 11.
In the XP help & Support Centre my version is given as 2004
When I try to install Media Player 11 I get a message to install XP Media
Center 2005 Roll up 2, of course when I try to install this I get a message
that it is not suitable for my version of XP
I have run the Updates in Help & Support.
Can anyone help?

(a) This is a Mac media player support group, hence the lack of
responses (apart from it was xmas eve when u posted !)

(b) WMP11 clearly states that MCE2005 or later is required before
installing :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/readme.aspx#InstallingthePlayeronWindowsXPMediaCenterEdition

So I dunno uess there's not much you can do to fix that - is there
something you *need* WMP11 for ?

Re: Installing Media Player 11 in Xp media centre 2004
Hmm that sucks. It should have media player 10 on there, which is
broadly unchanged under the hood, as far as playing protected video
content goes.

Do you have WMP10 on there, and have you had chance to try it using
that ? I'd contact Sky if it doesn't work, because there's no real
*reason* for them to insist on WMP11 for anything they're doing.

HTH
