Streaming Video Won't Play in WMP 11 for XP Home Edition
Recently, I've begun having problems seeing video clips streamed over the
Internet. These are from sites which use WMP. I get the audio but no
video file at all. Some of the sites involved are the Setanta Broadband
Network, Channel 67 (Glasgow Celtic TV) and Tottenham Hotspur TV.

Other streaming video--You Tube and Veoh, for instance--sites which don't
use WMP (as far as i know) play properly, both audio and video, on my
computer. DVDs play properly in the drive. This leads me to believe the
problem is with some setting in the software, not the video card or driver.
I have checked the HP website and there is nothing there to resolve the
problem.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

I have tried reinstalling WMP 11 and downloading the codecs for WMP 9 for XP
and deactivating video acceleration but I still only get the audio for the
sites initially listed with no video.

The computer is a Compaq Presario V2402US Notebook PC with an InterVideo
WinDVD Player.

This is a Mac media player group (sighs !)

OK so in WMP11, go to the Now Playing tab, click the small dropdown
menu below that and choose More Options then Performance.

On the section 'Autodetect' network connection speed, try setting it
to T1 (assuming you have a 2-4mbps DSL onnection) and it may well tell
the remote server you have enough bandwidth to display the video as
well as the audio

HTH
