I tried to download the Media Player for Mac and all I got was a text file called Windows Media.sitx which contained a bunch of unreadable mumbo jumbo. I want Media Player so I am able to views movies and video clips which I am moving over to my new Mac. Some worked fine but the ones that are in an avi format are giving me problems. If I can't download Media Player does anyone have any suggestions for viewing these avi files? Thanks for your help.

That's a Stuffit zipped file type, you just need the freeware Stuffit expander to open that file : http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/stuffitexpander.html HTH Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2007 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs

Clicking on the desktop icon should then install the player HTH Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2007 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs

You need Stuffit version 6, according to the download page : http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/misc/winmp_osx.xml&secid=80&ssid=8&flgnosysreq=True HTH Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2007 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs
