Outlook 2001 Mac and Exchange Server 5.5 migration to 2003
Hi,

we migrated from Exchange Server 5.5 to 2003. We have Mac and Windows
clients in our network, Mac OS from 9.2 to 10.3.9 and Windows 98SE to XP
Prof. For the macs we use Outlook 2001 (v9.0-Build 1808). We cant use
Entourage, because we must have access to several inboxes. After moving the
users mailboxes to the new server (the servers are connected via Active
Directory Connector, running on the Primary Domain Controller), I switched
off the old one last thursday. Everything seems to be right, but the Mac
clients freeze after a while, the application hangs. Creating a new profile
doesnt work too.

Has anyone out there experience with the same problem and how to solve it?
Our IT- and Mac-experts we are working together with are helpless too.

Regards,

Andi Wagner

I have seen something similar before and it was to do with an AD attribute
pointing to the old server and I am desperatley trying to remember what it
is, something like system folders or public folders. If you swicth the old
server back on does it then work ?

Re: Outlook 2001 Mac and Exchange Server 5.5 migration to 2003
Thanks a lot for your response. Yes, after switching the old server back on,
everything works fine again.

Right now, Im on vacation for the next two weeks since last friday, so
please apologise if I dont reply immediately. Maybe you will remember in
the meantime.

Andi Wagner

Re: Outlook 2001 Mac and Exchange Server 5.5 migration to 2003
Its to do with the public folder server, let me see if I can find exact
reference to the issue.

Regards

Paul
