interoperability of iCal (Mac) with Outlook (PC) Calendar
I can send invitations or events from my Windows 2000 and XP boxes to
other Window's Outlook users and they (and I ) can accept and have the
event posted to my Calendar.

I can send invitations from my Mac OS X machines and the email is
received but the icon which would be used to accept the event is
missing from the body of the email and the accept and reject buttons in
Outlook are grayed out.

Being able to work with my customers/clients who use Mac would be a
good thing. I use Office products at work on PC because my company has
elected to be a Microsoft shop. I purchase and use Microsoft products
for both Windows and Mac at home because they offer different strengths
and are interoperable ... I am submitting this feedbact to Apple,
Microsoft and on this group to raise awareness of the issue and to
remind both companies that interoperability is important to customers
both those with a choice and those who will get a choice some day.

Specifically, which email client are you using on your Mac OS X machine?
Entourage 2004, which is part of MS Office for Mac, does work with
sending and receiving invitations with Outlook for Windows. If you're
using this, then you may be facing a different issue than compatibility.

Re: interoperability of iCal (Mac) with Outlook (PC) Calendar
I'm using Entourage 2004 to send invitations to an Outlook for Windows
user. However, Outlook does not process these invitations and doesn't
even seem to recognize them as such, but treats them as ordinary mail
messages instead. What could be the problem then?
