Does Entourage 2004 have the option to request "read receipts" (automatic notification when someone reads an email)? Howard

Have a look at this page on The Entourage Help Page <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/return_receipt.html>. Keep in mind that it will never be "automatic". The recipient must allow the reply to return to you. FYI, this newsgroup has been deprecated and replaced with microsoft.office.mac.office.entourage. Be sure to post any further questions in that group rather than this one. You'll have a lot more eyes seeing your messages there. Hope this helps! -- bill William M. If this newsgroup has been deprecated, why doesn't MS just close it to new postings? Although this newsgroup's name has "Microsoft" in the title, it's not controlled by Microsoft. It's sitting alongside all the alt., comp. and other Usenet groups. Microsoft does offer a news server connection to the Usenet newsgroups and they specifically filter out everything except the Microsoft newsgroups. This is the msnews.microsoft.com news server. You'll notice that spam is greatly filtered in the Microsoft newsgroups when connecting through msnews but it may be more prevalent when connecting through other news servers. The reason Microsoft doesn't "remove" this group is that they can't remove it from all the Usenet servers. They don't control them. They would prefer that the group exist and explain that it's deprecated rather than having folks post to a group that doesn't get replicated to their servers. The MacBU folks use to have an automated system posting a message in this and other deprecated Mac groups explaining to folks not to use this group but that system seems to have died a long time ago. Frankly, I think Microsoft should just filter out the deprecated newsgroups and let the chips fall where they may but that's not my choice. -- bill William M.
