Installation Error 1635
Just recovered from a serious viral/trojan attack. Now I can't run any of the
Office 2003 Professional applications. I get sometimes 5 quick successive
pop-up windows saying "Preparing to Install" that promptly close, and then a
choice to repair  or not. The repair option leads to another message;
"Installation Error 1635" or or the other path leads to "Reinstall". My
Ferrari 4000 laptop, running XP Home didn't come with the original Office
CD's, except a series of recovery disk that warn me that the drive will be
reformated to factory state. I can't have that. Please, please help.

RE: Installation Error 1635
I'm having the same problem with Outlook 2003 (11.8118.8172 SP2). I used to
be able to import Excel files to Calendar with no problems. Now I get the
same Windows Installer Error 1635. Another rogue patch from Redmond?
