Hi Titus!
Have a look at Microsoft's website <http://www.microsoft.com/mac>. It'll
tell you when Office 2008 will be released.
As for Macintosh users "getting screwed", you need to understand how
Office for Mac is developed. Office for Windows is developed and
released first. Then, to ensure compatibility, Office 2008 is developed
afterward and typically released about 6-8 months later. This has been
the case for the last few versions. Also, Office:mac is being re-written
as a Universal Binary to support Intel Macs. That's a lot of work in itself.
The original release date for Office 2008 was "second half of 2007" as
announced at MacWorld in January 2007, however, development has slipped
and it's slated to be released in January 2008 at MacWorld.
If you'll keep up with the announcements (there have been plenty) and
also check in with the Mac Mojo blog <http://blogs.msdn.com/macmojo/>
then you'll have plenty to read about and learn before Office 2008 is
even released.
Hope this helps!

Re: Office 2008 - when?
At least an Open Beta would pacify some of us w/ large font menus. I hate
having to open Word on my Mav anymore, it can take well over 3 min. just to
"Optimize the font menu," whatever that means.
