Messenger:Mac -- Can't sign in   

Why can't I sign into Messenger:Mac?  I'm trying to use the same password I 
use when I sign in on the Windows Side of my Mac.  The Messenger icon is in 
my dock, but for some reason will not let me sign in.  I also cannot receive 
hotmail in my Mail application on the Mac side.  Any ideas?
