Does anyone know?
Does anyone know where I can get a wireless USB adapter for an apple iBook
G3. I know that this notebook can take an airport card, (not the airport
extreme card), but everywhere I have looked they seem to be selling at
ridicules prices. My system specs are:

Apple iBook G3
MAC OS X v10.2.8
700MHz Processor
128MB Ram
ATI graphics

Your iBook comes with the AirPort Adapter already installed, all you
need is the AirPort card. I found several offerings on Ebay for $20-30,
some with free shipping. It will probably cost that much for a USB one
which may or may not work. I think you are better off getting the
AirPort card and be sure.
Also you probably should consider getting as much RAM as you can afford
since the 128 MB is the minimum for OS X.

Re: Does anyone know?
Think Jim's trying to break it to you gently:-)

It would be far more prudent to put the money it would take for an Airport
card & more RAM (that system maxes at 640 MB) toward the purchase of a newer
Macbook that comes with built-in, higher performance Airport.

I understand how you probably feel about your trusty iBook, but by today's
standards it really can't be brought up to date and any money you dump into
it will most likely not provide anywhere near the performance you expect.

You're probably seeing offerings of the current Airport Extreme card,
which Apple still sells. His iBook G3 needs the original Airport card,
long discontinued, that routinely sells for over $100.

Re: Does anyone know?
I'd like to thank everyone that who gave me some input.
I think that the last comment is about right, also Mike was
right that it needs a Airport Card NOT the Airport Extreme
Card.

Again thanks to everyone.
