Downloading files
Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Hi, I use to be able to download .doc files with out any problems. Now every time I download a file, it saves as a .doc.dot the files I'm being sent are originally .doc ... can anyone help me stop this? Thanks! I would really appreciate your help :o)

Re: Downloading files
It's a conflict with Safari that hits everyone. Options:

1) go into Finder and manually delete the extra extension from the end
of the filename

2) use Firefox 3 instead.

Installing the 12.1 and 12.1.1 updates seems to help some people, but
not most.
