Format Painting Brush
Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

The Format Painting Brush I have on my toolbar no longer works.

I click on it as usual and try to copy formatting from one place to the next but it has no effect.

I have tried deleting the Format Painting Brush from the toolbar and then putting it on again but this does not help.

I frequently use this feature and it is a real pain for it now to no longer work.

Re: Format Painting Brush
It's probably working, but you did not select any formatting to copy.

Turn on Show/Hide so you can see what you are doing.

Most formatting is stored in the paragraph marks. If you do not have a
paragraph mark in your selection when you enable the Format Painter, much of
the formatting you want is not there to be copied.

Cheers

Re: Format Painting Brush
Hello dubois -

Unfortunately "Office 2008" & "OS X 10.5 Leopard" isn't specific enough for
clarification, so if you haven't already done so make sure both Office & OS
X are up to date (12.1.1 & 10.5.4, respectively) repair permissions &
restart your Mac. If the problem persists once you have - or if you're
certain this is already the status - please provide a few more details...

Is this occurring in *all* documents or just a specific one? What type of
formatting are you attempting to copy? Include specifics about what you're
doing, how you're doing it & the nature/origin of the content.

Have you tried from a new/other User Account? What happens if you do?

What happens if you Control/Right+Click the Standard toolbar & select the
Reset Toolbar command?
