Word 2008
Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

In previous versions of Word for Mac one could read the cursor vertical height in the bottom horizontal window along with page number, spell check and other information.
In Word 2008 the vertical indication has disappeared... or I cannot find how to make it appear.
Could anyone help? Thanks a lot

Re: Word 2008
Sorry, but some fool apparently decided that the Status Bar would be more
functional if it *didn't* display the STATUS of anything... I'm still
looking to get the bugger by the throat :-)

Please use Help> Send Feedback to add your message of disappointment to the
many already in the MacBU database. Hopefully enough demand will get the
functionality restored.

Re: Word 2008
Thank you... I already complained! In the meantime, is there any way to read the vertical position of the cursor, besides the vertical ruler that gives only inaccurate indications?
Many thanks...

Re: Word 2008
If you mean in linear measurement, No, AFAIK there isn't anything other than
the ruler. However, you can activate the Drawing toolbar & use the Grid
Option button to design & display a grid in the document. That may provide
what you need.

You can also use Format> Document> Layout - Line Numbers to turn line
numbering on if that will help.

Re: Word 2008
Thanks... activating the Drawing toolbar & displaying a grid in the document certainly helps, although the previous indication in the Status bar was so much simpler...
