Uninstall 2008 Student ver. - reinstall Standard ver
Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I bought 2008 Student addition and learned it will not allow me to use my hosted Microsoft exchange server with Entourage. Amazon will allow me to return it. I will order the Standard version of Office 2008.

My question - I want a flawless uninstall of the Student version and new installation of the Standard. I am about to proceed with the instructions I found here on the forum. Anything else I should be aware of? Can it be as simple as dragging the application to the trash and doing the same with a use-name in the preferences library?

I would do the "Remove Office" and install. Your CD key from the Home &
Student version might be a left over if you don't.

Sorry for being dense - what do you mean "Remove Office" and install.
Is this something different from what I was going to do?

Diane - never mind and thank you. I used Finder and found the Remove Office applet and then emptied the trash. Can you confirm that if I buy the Standard edition of Office 2008 for Mac, I will be able to use my Microsoft exchange server hosted by Intermedia for Entourage email. Thanks again for the reply. - Kevin

The Standard version does contain Exchange support.
