I can not post any picture at the "display picture" it indicates me the following:
"The selected file could not be imported or use as your display picture, please be sure that the file is a valid picture format".

Is a picture (jpg), I tried all the pictures I have in my computer and i still can not change the picture, I can not even put the pictures that comes with the msn.

I've never heard of this problem before. If I were you, I would check to see which version you are currently using. You may also want to try the web-based MSN Messenger. It is also quite handy.

Re: I can not post any picture at the "display picture"
Here's some advice Rebecca Harriss and Mickey Stevens posted earlier on this forum:

1. Go to your ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data folder and inside there is the
Microsoft Messenger Data folder. When Messenger IS NOT launched move this
folder to the desktop. Then launch Messenger, sign-in and try to change your
display picture.

If the above doesn't work, please try the following:
Launch Messenger, but don't sign-in
Choose the option to "Sign in with a different account . . ."
Click Clear Account History . . .
Click Clear History
Now click Sign-in and enter your credentials again

If that doesn't work,
Launch Messenger
Sign-in
Go to View | Conversation History then close the History window
Now go to your display picture and see if you can change it
