Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I am trying to login to "Either date and time settings are incorrect, or the digital certificate file is not valid or installed on your computer" I have installed the server certificate in the X509Anchors chain. Is there something else I need to do? I have also confirmed I can log in fine from a Windows box with messenger 2007.
same problem, no damn idea. If its not the "digital certificate file" error message, I get directed in circles of passwords and keychain re-setting, and I'm so confused... I'm not a computer-y person, but I've put in a new battery into my iBook G4, and when I started my machine up again, I reset the dates and my WiFi connection. Everything works... just not Messenger!!

You need to add the X509 anchors to leopard keychain application and then add the certificate to that location. 10.5.x: Launch Keychain Access located in your Utilities folder. Choose File -> Add to Keychain, then Select /System/Library/Keychains/X509Certificates.obsoleted. You should now be able to view the x509 anchors. Here are further instructions on adding to the keychain: <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/itpros/default.mspx?CTT=PageView&clr=99-17-0&target=bdfccdb8-a46a-4887-8673-83ebd8a40cd81033&srcid=d371b35a-be84-4859-8104-ba9c40d4c10e1033&ep=7>

I have /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors though, not the X509Certificates.obsoleted. It still does not work for me.
EXACT same for me...no luck. Any ideas?

I had the latter installed in X509Anchors. I then installed the root cert in the same location and it started working. If your orgs using MS certificate server, the root cert appears as, - Download CA certificate chain
We have a self signed root certificate, which is what I have installed in X509Anchors but it does not help. My understanding is that there is no other certificate to install. The server is presenting this root certificate when I attempt to connect. I have confirmed this using Wireshark to sniff the packets.
