Hotmail - Access Denied
I tried to access my hotmail account through MSN. I was redirected to a page
which said that there was a sign in error, thus my account was closed and
access is denied. Reading the terms more closely it said that I had violated
the terms of agreement. Then it listed out that by filling in a form I could
re-open my account. So out of curiousity I clicked the link...which took me
to Bell's home page. I have no idea what Bell has anything to do with
Hotmail. So I'm totally stumped.

I can't even access the hotmail website. So I don't know if this is my
problem or hotmail's problem. On the other hand, I was able to sign in using
the banned e-mail address into Windows Live Mail (but still unable to check
my e-mail). I can still go on MSN with this address. So I'm throroughly
confused...help!

RE: Hotmail - Access Denied
Have you managed to resolve this? It's Thurs 10th July 2008. Last weekend
Hotmail stopped me accessing my account with an 'Account Closed / Access
Denied message. Apparently I seem to have violated some terms/conditions.
I'm still waiting for their 24 hour reply. I have absolutely no idea what
I've done. My job applications, my friends' e-mail addresses etc etc are no
longer available to me. I've done nothing different. I can't find anything in
the terms & conditions etc that may apply to me. I am at a complete loss
...... and in a lot of distress!

I got this today..same thing except the suggesstion I may have contravened
they're Terms & Conditions even though my use of the account has been
consistent and hasn't changed. In the world I live in if some one is 'out of
order' you tell them first and give them the chance to modify their behavior.
A cold silent clampdown is a very timely reminder of the cyber etiquette of
the hardcorps behind that that we take for granted at our future peril. It is
reminiscent of a Big Brother Sci Fi vision of the future.

RE: Hotmail - Access Denied
You guys are not alone. But first let me ask everyone a question. Have you
folks recently cancelled your Sympatico service? And were you using MSN
Premium? Okay two questions....I did and I was. Without turning this into
an "I hate Bell and this is what they did to me" message, I will tell you
that the day my service with Bell stopped, is the same day that I stopped
being able to access my hotmail account.

After i clicked on the "help" link, the response that I received told me
that it was a problem with Bell. Naturally after talking to Bell, they said
it was not their problem. and so on.... I eventually started to get some
answers. The last thing that I was told was that once an account was closed,
all associated email accounts were closed as well. The only way to get it
back would be to reopen your sympatico account and close it after 30 days.

While talking to Bell India, the only response that i would get was that
there is nothing that could be done and I refused to accept that. I then
asked to speak to someone in Canada (it has been my experience that I tend to
get better support speaking to Canadian tech support) Nothing personal, just
my experience. Anyways
I was able to get a little bit more info and the fellow that I talked to
appeared to be making an effort to restore my access to MY hotmail, to no
avail. I ended up speaking with a rep from Mircosoft who attempted to
unblock my account several. Back to Bell I go. I am still not able to open
my Hotmail account and I'll be damned if Bell thinks that I am going to give
them another penny just so I can have my email address back.

RE: Hotmail - Access Denied
Did you ever get a response? This just happened to me today and I have a
panic feeling because of my documents and addresses and general information
that I had on my hotmail account.

Thanks.
