Excel 2008 and analysis toolpack
Hello,

I've just upgraded from Office X (macintosh) to Office 2008, and notice
that the Analysis Toolpack doesn't seem to be available for Excel
anymore. Can anyone confirm this? Or, if it is available, how do I
find the Add-In? I must say that 90% of the reason I use Excel is for
the data analysis tools that it provides, and will be very unhappy if MS
has decided not to support these tools for the Macintosh.

Hi Robert,

<will be very unhappy if MS has decided not to support these tools for the Macintosh>

I'm afraid that's exactly what they did. This has been discussed in length in the excel Mac user group:

microsoft.public.mac.office.excel

There seem to be good alternatives, so a search in these groups might help you.

Ah, yes, I found those discussions in the archives, thank you for that
pointer. Unhappy doesn't really convey my displeasure with MS on this
matter, just add it to the list, I guess.

P.S. I'm not Robert--would that I were--the quote is from Robert Frost,

Re: Excel 2008 and analysis toolpack
Hi,
I was looking for this feature too since I needed for some work for a class.
I read several articles on technet and other websites that confirmed your
suspicions. For right now it doesn't seem like microsoft is going to make
this available.
