1. My opponent - TheGreatRayDean (2054) cancelled the match by artificially making me running out of time. I got good chances and doubled. Suddenly it was a delay before his next move, I turned on stall timer countdown and when timer was near 13 he made his move and all of a sudden I got game message "You lost because you are out of time" (!!!) I thought it was a software bug, but then the message from my opponent appeared stating that "You angered me therefore I have taken the game and match from you. You have undoubtedly learned a valuable lesson here today. You may thank me now". In such way this gentleman added some more points to his rating. Being honest, his checkerplay was around 1800. 2. My opponent - AlexBob7 (1880). Extremely poor checkerplay - should be around 1400. All the match I wondered how could he get such a rating. At the end of the match (I was winning 5 pt match 4:2) he offered resign (anyway, I won this last game 100%). I agreed to his resignation and IMMEDIATELY upon my confirmation of his resign he disconnected from the game right at the moment when confirmation window "You have accepted your opponent's resignation" popped up. Instead of merely ending the game, the computer opponent suddenly substituted the disconnected human one (I guess due to his sudden disconnect) and I was instructed to make a move!!!! But of course I could not, because the modal popup window blocked all user input... So again I got to close the game window after a while and loose the match... I've sent detailed reports to zmaster@microsoft.com and in both cases got replies stating that I have to clean up Explorer cookies to avoid problems... LOL that was too much. Sure Microsoft will still prosper without us, nasty honest backgammon players. No doubt.
I too just played backgammon with TheGreatRayDean. His score is somewhere in the mid-1900s; I'm currently in the mid-1800s. He was up 3-0 in games. In our fourth game he doubled. Play continued. I doubled back. He paused an extremely long time. I waited a bit, then started the timer. It clicked down to 15 seconds. Then, he refused my double. Games were now 3-2 his favor. Next game began. Midway through the game, I was leading. Suddenly, a message came up stating "You lost because you are out of time." Like DmSpb below, I thought it was a bug. Then my opponent left the following message: TheGreatRayDean> No one is allowed to double here but me. Let this be a lesson to you. You may thank me now. TheGreatRayDean exits. He's clearly figured out a cheat. Beware!
