Re: So now that WoW has been out a while..
I bought WoW when it first came out, but I cancelled my subscription before
the free month was over with.
I think WoW is the ultimate realization of the EQ and DAoC gaming system,
with very similar combat, skills, classes, grouping, crafting, spell
casting, and questing systems. Blizzard did a nice job of picking up the
pace a bit and removing some of the tedium of its predecessors. In the end,
though, it just felt like a game I'd already played before.
I'd have to rate WoW a 9 out of 10, all of the pieces are there. I just
didn't want to play it.

What's the collective wisdom have to say about it? ;-)

Oh, one other thing I forgot to ask..
Who here is playing CoH these days? Or Planetside, or Lineage 2, or
Guildwars.. (I know, rather a lot of games.. but I'm curious.)
I got bored with CoH months back (first of the year) but came back 3 months
ago and haven't been bored with it, the trick with me is to make 4or 5
different classes that you play quite a lot. I do currently have a WoW
membership but haven't played more than once in the last 2 weeks. What
kills WoW for me is the linear game play, grouping is not fun, (getting
picky now) having to wait for the quests to simulate being written down for
me instead of just popping up in the window....d'oh! and having to BUY
skills after you get the necessary experience.
I did get a little bored last week and decide to re-up my old SWG
subscription....bought Rage of Wookies with JLS only to find that my
computer reboots everytime I try to log my character in :). If anyone has a
suggestion on that I'd appreciate it (here is my post to SWG ng)
<<HP Pavilion
Microsoft XP Home Edition
SP 1
1.4Ghz
512 mb Ram
DirectX 9.0c
GeForce FX 5500 256mb
Reinstalled game today....
Downloaded Rage of the Wookies with Light Speed for $24.95 :)
Defragged......
Did reset in-game options and checked disable world preloading as prescribed
in help.....
I've been at this for hours with no luck.....I get to the point where my
character pops up on the screen and instantly computer reboots. This has
happened 6 times now and I'm tired, any ideas? Some easy fix that I haven't
come upon yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!>>
I had this problem before with an older computer with limited memory,
whenever I tried to log in the screen got very bright and instantly rebooted
the computer "exactly" like what it is doing now. I've already trying
logging in with no sound with the same results.
Help! Time to earn your pay :)
