zone friends shows me as offline   

I'm having issues with the Zone Friends. It always shows me as offline and
obviously is not working properly. I also see I am not the only person
experiencing this, and I cannot help but wonder why no one is making an
attempt to remedy the situation.
On a loosely related note, things are looking a bit shabby around here. The
page where the "latest version of your game is loading" is annoying and
seems like some sort of stall tactic, a 6-second window during which crap is
flung together. It's vexing. If you want me to believe a slightly updated
version of chess comes out daily, fix the Zone foolishness. It would make it
a bit more convincing.

Here's an MS unendorsed manner of kickstarting zm when your list opens
but friends names dont load and/or it says you're logged in but
offline.
Open yoyr friends list so its visible, if in a room right click your
name in the users list and click "view profile" wait for the window
to finish loading then click on send message, wait and watch for
friends list, it "should" finish loading. If not, right click the Zone
icon in your systray (small blue icon in the clock area) and click
exit so that it terminates zm. Click send message in the view profile
window again and wait briefly. Its guaranteed to load this time or
your money will be cheerfully refunded :-))
