I have Deus Ex: Invisible War and I had it for a while. It worked fine on my XP machine, but now I got Vista hers what happens: I click "New Game" on the main menu. After the video (it doesn't matter if I press "ESC" or if I watch it) the character creation screen appears, and I select the following: Difficulty - Easy, Character - Male, Lightest Skin. Then I click start game and I accept to start the game. After that the screen turns black and stays black. Why does this happen? Do I need to run it in XP or have other players of this game had no problem?

Video codec probably not playing the video correctly. Old game + new OS = new problems Right-click Game icon and choose run as admin try bringing up properties (right-click again on icon) Click Compatibility Tab Check first box and change to Windows XP SP2 mode Try game again. Reply here, post system specs. Look on Google for "Deus Ex 2 with Vista", I bet money you'll find a couple fixes or solutions specifically for the game. Oh look, here's a link to Eidos support (UK), they seem to think you can do what I said above and it'll work. Try it out... http://www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/support/faqinfo.html?fqid=382&gmid=151 -- -A.
I'll try that, but I've had a few other programs that might need XP to run so I might probably just do a dual boot on this PC.
