Issues with archival
I have a weird problem in my VSS setup.

The VSS server and my project VSS database was installed on a desktop
under a specific user. Someone deleted that user. As a result, I am
not able to locate the VSS server and do not have access to the admin
console. However from my client installed on other machines I am able
to access the VSS database.

Now we are moving to another location and I have to release the
machine which has the VSS database. I want to archive the database so
that I can setup a new server in my new location and restore the
database there.

Since I dont have the VSS server here, I am not able to run the
archive option. So what are my options to transfer the database to the
new server?

I am thinking of copying the database directory as is and then put it
on the new server. Will that work?

I am using VSS 6.0 on Win XP

I think it will work. Have you tried that?
