How to switch the VSS database network share to another location
Hi,

We use network shares as our VSS database.

We are planning to move our VSS network share to another server with
different name.

What would be the most seamless way for all programmers to point their
existing projects in VS.NET to the new location?

Any help would be appreciated,
Max

RE: How to switch the VSS database network share to another location
Hello Max

According to your description, what you want is the best way for all
programmers to point their existing projects in Visual Studio 2005 to the
new SourceSafe Database location. If I misunderstood anything here, please
don't' hesitate to correct me.

For existing projects, my suggestion is that your developers can change the
underling SourceSafe database in VS IDE directly.
1."File|Source Control|Change Source Control"
2. Double click "ServerBinding" column and locate the new location.

Hope this helps. If you have any more concern or you face any further
issue, please feel free to update here again. We are glad to assist you.

Have a great day,
Best regards,

Wen Yuan
