Fast Track: MSHelp2 Conversion and Integration using Helpware FAR
Hi Friends,
Recently I wrote a complete no-nonsense, step-by-step procedure describing:
Conversion of H1 to H2
Creation of an H2 Project (HxC)
Creation of an H2 Collection (HxS)
Creation of H2 Merge Module, .MSI and Setup.exe packages
Building the MergeModule/.msi/setup.exe packages
Installation of the .msi/setup.exe packages into VS 2003 or VS 2005 IDE Help
Contents windows.
All work in the study was done using fully licensed editions of:
Microsoft WinXP Professional + SP2 with latest updates
Helpware FAR v.4.0.0.643 Beta
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 - latest RTM
Microsoft VS SDK 2005 - latest RTM
Microsoft Help Integration Wizard 2005 - latest RTM
There is no theory involved; only warnings where most mistakes can be made
and how to avoid them.
There are no images or screen shots; only short and descriptive step-by-step
instructions.
If you follow the entire process starting with one of your H1 (.chm)
projects, it will produce a complete working H2 entity in the VS 2003 or VS
2005 IDE Help Contents windows. I've tried to keep everything as simple and
straight-forward as possible.

My sincere thanks go to Microsoft Help MVP Rob Chandler, who first examined
and then agreed to post this paper on his Helpware FAR website.
