Tool box choose item kills VS   

In VS 2008 when I right click on tool box and select Choose Items … VS is 
busy (unresponsive) for a while then VS quits, disappears from the screen and 
the task manager processes list.  No dialog box appears in that time.  Any 
ideas on what is wrong or where I can get information to fix this?  I have 
removed and reinstalled VS 2008.

I have the same issue on a couple of boxes... Any suggestions?
