Hello, I am not sure if this discussion group is the right one. We have a very annoying problem with VSDMI files. Every time a developer opens the Test Explorer (just opens) in VSTS the VSMDI file gets checked out and LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY in TFS. Then if another developer opens the Test Explorer, VS tries to check out the same VSDMI file, which is locked by the first developer. After failed checkout VS creates a new additional VSMDI file, e.g. first VSDMI file name is "Master.vsdmi" the new file will get the name "Master1.vsmdi", for the next developer it would be "Master2.vsmdi" and so on. VS adds this file also automatically to the solution and sometimes .sln file gets screwed up and we have to recreate the solution again and again. Environment: -TFS 2008 -VSTS 2008 -WIN XP SP2 - 10 Developers - Multiple projects in solution with multiple unit test projects. We had the same problem also with TFS 2005 and VSTS 2005. It is very annoying problem and I could not find any working solution on the web right now. How can we prevent the VSDMI file being automatically locked?
