Fail upgrading c# solution from visual studio 2005 to 2008
I just upgraded to VS 2008. All C# projects are Ok and compile Ok, but when I
try to compile my merge module, I get two erros: "General failure bulding
custom actions" and then "Unrecoverable build error" messages.

I remove custom actions and compile ok.
Then I add again the custom action (Common Files Folder -> Primary output ->
select output), and get the same failure.

If I put InstallerClass custom action property value to false compile Ok,
but I have an installer class, I need this value to be true.
I need custom actions, what can I do?

RE: Fail upgrading c# solution from visual studio 2005 to 2008
Hi David,

Regarding on the "custom mergemodule with custom action build failure issue
within vs 2008 problem", I've performed some research and found that some
other customer has submitted a similar problem (with the same symptom).
Based on that case's comments, currently the problem is caused by some
known issue within the framework(when set "InstallerClass" attribute to
true). The latest research indicate that the problem will be fixed in the
VS 2008 SP1 package. So far workaround is limited(if you can not set
"InstallerClass" to false). If this is an urgent issue and you're looking
for a rapid fix on this incident, I would suggest you contact CSS so that
the product support engineer may help contact dev team to see whether they
can provide a on-demand fix on this.
