I am trying to create a report in visual studio using Microsoft Reporting. I add a new item to my project of Report Wizard type. It gives me the first screen and when I click next Visual Studio 2008 crashes. I tried creating a new item Report. It gives the default blank report. I click on Report menu then Data Sources and Visual Studio 2008 crashes! Previous to this I installed VS SP1 Beta. The installation did no finish successfully and caused problems debugging. I uninstalled SP1 and all entries in Add/Remove programs that specified SP1 Beta. I then ran the repair of VS 2008. At this point the toolbox for reports was not correct, only showed text box. I found a post in these forums which inidicated that the tookbox... files in VS9 directy should be deleted. I did that and it fixed the toolbox. However, After all this is when the VS 2008 crashes started. Previous to all this, some months ago, I was able to create a Report in Visual Studio! Please Help. Thank you, -- Robert Pfeffer VP of Technology Sun Valley Systems, Inc.
More information: If I have no data sources defined it does no crash. I add an object datasource, one of my classes. Then if I go to the report menu Datasource it crashes VS 2008. -- Robert Pfeffer VP of Technology Sun Valley Systems, Inc.
