There is a newer version in the database ..   

When I try to check-in files after having modified them, I somehow get the 
following error message 'A newer version in the database of the file ..'. I 
don't know why ? please help.

I am using,

Visual Source safe 2005,
am not using Multiple checkouts and
always check out the latest version of the file.

I always delete the local files when they are checked in
