I am using Visual Source Safe 2005 want to know if there is any way to read the comments a user has entered at the time of checking out certain files ? If answer to the above is known can I automate the comments as default when the files are checked-in the VSS ? Thanks
First part of my question is resolved. May be anybody is also interested it its solution, Right-Click on the file you are interested in and Select Properties .. For the second part: if you're checking in one file at a time from VSSExplorer, VSS will use the checkout comment as default comment for checkin (you'll see it displayed in the Comment field in checkin options dialog) If you checkin multiple files at a time, VSS cannot reuse the checkout comments as default, and you can't automate this. -- Alin Constantin This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
