Visual Basic Targets
I am trying to open an existing VB project that was sent to me from another
site. I am using Visual Studio 5. When I try to open the project I get the
message C:\Microsoft. visualbasic.targets not found. What does this mean and
what can I do about it.

You need to be clear about which version of visual basic you
are using, if its VB5 then this is the wrong group.

In any case, you need to find out from this 'other site'
where the missing file can be found.

Re: Visual Basic Targets
I am using Visual Studio 2005. That is what I am trying ot understand.
Though I am not new to programming, I am newbee to Visual Studio and VB. I
have read the MSDN bulletins on the basic.target.files however I am just not
understanding exactly what is missing and why. Is this becuase the sender is
using a different development BASIC than I am using.

Have you checked that the file exists?

It should be located somewhere like this

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.VisualBasic.targets

Re: Visual Basic Targets
Yes. I have checked directory and the file is there, however when I execute
the file open, it cannot find the visualbasic.target for this one particular
project. I have other projects sent to me that open and build clean. For
this one project, when I try to open the xxx.vbproj file, I get this error
message the visualbasic.target file is not there.
