I would like to set up a test network for a specific domain. For example - xyz.com is the domain and has it's own MX records. So, now I want to set up a test xyz.com domain and have an smtp server to send out messages from the test domain. It seems that since that messages to the xyz.com domain are not relayed out to the "real" mail server (external). Is there a way I can configure the smtp server and dns to relay to the external mailboxes? TIA Mark

That's because the would be "relay" server has that domain as a Local or Alias domain, so as far as it knows, _it_ is the mailbox server. Change the name of your Local and/or Alias domains (which use \Drop as their primitive mailbox folder) and DNS will be used to route to the intended mailbox server. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. ------------------------------------
Thanks - Yes, I did rename it and added the "real" mx records and now it works fine. It wouldn't let me delete the domain (even after adding a new alias or making a new one the default), but the renaming works. Though you can kill it in the metabase. But don't. :) --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. ------------------------------------
